Some more information on Bon-Ton Cycles for the history buffs. Lyle Paull kindly sent through these images and articles on Harold Corney and Bon-Ton. By all reports, Harold was a handy cyclist, regularly competing at a high level in 1930s. He even raced and beat the great Huber Opperman over a handicap race in Cairns. This report of him running into a calf mid-race in 1935 is also worth reading. It was in that year that Harold moved to Ipswich and took on the Bon-Ton Cycle Works.

Lyle visited the site of the Bon-Ton Cycle Works to take this picture three years ago. Unfortunately, the old writing has been painted over as part of the Stumps Hotel refurbishment.
